HEALING …

The process of healing following a loss or a significant life event requires patience and time. Establishing a warm and confidential therapeutic environment so that you feel safe to share your story, feelings and emotions is critical to starting the healing process. Often I am asked how long therapy will take in order to reach your goals of treatment. As you are probably aware there is no definitive answer, as each individual and set of circumstances is unique and each of us experiences this process at a different pace. Setting both short and long term goals will help us to measure our progress. Ultimately, self-compassion is fundamental to the healing process. As we are patient and compassionate with ourselves, forgiveness toward ourselves and others encourages the healing process to allow for lasting change and transformation.
