About Me…

Hi and thank you for visiting my website! My name is Roberta Quirk and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Leesburg, Virginia. I earned my Masters of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and History from Boston College -- Go Eagles! Prior to becoming an LCSW I earned a J.D. at the University of Richmond and practiced residential real estate law. I have lived in Loudoun County for over 20 years and enjoy everything this beautiful state of Virginia has to offer - from the mountains, to the beaches, to our close proximity to Washington, DC. Although Northern Virginia holds a special place in my heart, having raised my three children here, I must confess I am originally from the Boston area and am still a Boston sports fan at heart!

Since making the transition from law to social work I have worked for 10 years with individuals, couples, families and groups to provide support, encouragement and therapeutic guidance through various types of challenges. My clinical experience has included counseling at a community mental health agency, facilitating a perinatal loss support group, providing post-adoption services to children and parents, serving as a bereavement coordinator with a local hospice agency, and most recently providing assistance to patients, caregivers and others impacted by a cancer diagnosis as an Oncology Clinical Therapist with Inova Life with Cancer.

I have significant experience and interest in helping clients work through issues of loss and grief. Grief may arise from a multitude of loss experiences and life transitions. These may include infertility experiences, pregnancy loss or termination, adoption experiences, the death of a child or other loved ones, chronic or terminal illnesses, divorce or separation, job loss or retirement, and many, many more. In working with grief and loss it is the courage, strength and resiliency of my clients that continue to impress me each and every day. Grief work is not easy - regardless of the type of loss that has resulted in a grief experience. I applaud you for taking the first steps toward healing. And I look forward to assisting you in your journey.
